PONTIAC, Mich. -- The Detroit men's lacrosse team had a great fall conditioning season and that momentum has carried right over into the preseason as the Titans began week two of practice on Monday.
With the cold temperatures outside, the Titans practice indoors at Ultimate Soccer Arenas in Pontiac, the site of their home opener against Michigan on Feb. 12.
The team started the Monday session with some fun as the red, white and blue took part in picture day. The squad dressed in its home whites and filled the stands for its annual team picture.
It was then off to practice as Detroit went hard for a few hours, all in preparation for the season opener at Delaware on Feb. 4.
UDM has already received some preseason accolades as Inside Lacrosse's 2012 Face-Off Yearbook has Detroit finishing second in the MAAC's Preseason Coaches' Poll. Junior goalie
A.J. Levell (Columbus, OH/Dublin Scioto), along with junior defenseman
Jamie Hebden (Farmington Hills, MI/Brother Rice) and junior long stick midfielder
Jordan Houtby (St. Catharines, ON/Holy Cross Secondary) were also voted to the Preseason All-Conference team.
Before practice started, we caught up with fourth-year head coach Matt Holtz about how the Titans have looked so far. To access that interview,
