LINK TO THE AUCTIONS
Detroit Titan fans, don't miss your chance to own a piece of history! Beginning Monday, Jan. 23, game-worn throwback jerseys from the "Dick Vitale Dedication" game will be auctioned off via public sale on eBay.
Tonight at midnight, these auctions will end on eBay! A portion of the proceeds benefit the V Foundation.
Game-worn jerseys will start at a minimum bid of $100, while the shorts will start at $50 apiece (items auctioned separately). All jerseys are certified authentic from the Dec. 5, 2011 game that saw Detroit defeat BIG EAST foe St. John's 69-63.
Nearly 6,000 fans at Calihan Hall and a national ESPN2 audience witnessed the Titans welcome Vitale to Detroit, honoring the former U of D head coach and athletic director's accomplishments in his four decades in college basketball with the naming of the court in his honor. The Titans, clad in uniforms that resembled the unique uniforms of those famed late-1970s teams, played an inspired game with the nation's eyes focused on the Motor City.
Now you can call a piece of that historic night your own with one of these jerseys. These jerseys were made especially for this night by Michigan-based Moneyball Sportswear, owned and operated by former Titan Desmond Ferguson. These white home jerseys feature a number on both front and back with "Titans" sublimated on the front and each player's name also adorning the back.
The design features red and blue stars in the gusset and a style that was originally commissioned to be worn un-tucked. The shorts have a cotton drawstring and come in varying sizes.
