ON TAP
Detroit finishes out its three-game homestand, hosting UIC in a Friday night tilt. The Titans-- winners of four of their last five-- are looking to continue their solid play of late and make a run in the Horizon League standings.
SCOUTING THE FLAMES
UIC is gunning for its first HL road win since Feb. 27, 2009 (at Loyola). The Flames have dropped 23 straight regular-season HL road decisions. Gary Talton-- who also leads the Horizon League in free-throw shooting-- is the team's leading scorer at 11.0 ppg. Daniel Barnes adds 10.9 per contest while Darrin Williams chips-in 9.7 ppg and is the Flames' top rebounder (6.4 rpg).
THE SERIES WITH UIC
The all-time series points towards Detroit, 23-14. UIC took the opener of the series this season, 63-59 on Dec. 29 but lost both games in the series last year.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Detroit takes to the road for the Indiana swing at Valpo (Feb. 2) and Butler (Feb. 4). Both games will be televised with the Valpo game being shown on FOX Sports Detroit and Feb. 4th's game on ESPN2 from the host city of Super Bowl XLVI, which occurs a day later.
LAST TIME OUT
Starting center LaMarcus Lowe scored a career-high 14 points and sixth man Eli Holman added a team-high 15 points and 12 rebounds as host Detroit defeated Loyola 67-52 Wednesday night at Calihan Hall in Horizon League play. The duo combined to go 12-for-16 from the floor and amassed five blocks to carry the Titans to their fifth win in their last seven games. Four Detroit players were in double figures as sophomore Ray McCallum chipped-in 13 and junior Jason Calliste added 12 as the Titans led wire-to-wire. Joe Crisman led all scorers with 16 points for Loyola.
KEEP IT UNDER 55, FELLAS
Detroit has put the clamps down defensively in its last two contests, holding Wright State to 53 points Saturday and Loyola to 52 points Wednesday. That total against the Ramblers marked a season-low for the Detroit defense which has held opponents to under 60 points six times this year (5-1 record).
ESPN, YOU! GET US ON THE "U"

WEDNESDAY WINNERS
UDM is 2-0 on Wednesdays this season after the 67-52 win over Loyola two nights ago. Detroit also ousted Austin Peay, 93-92 in overtime on Wed., Nov. 23.
TOP 20 NOW AWAITS
Senior Chase Simon moved into 21st place on the all-time scoring list Wednesday and remains just seven points shy of cracking the top 20. Simon, who has 1,228 career points in a Detroit uniform (98 at Central Michigan) to his credit, is inching up on No. 20 on the list, Tony Tolbert-- who also transferred to UDM (from Michigan).

L.L. COOL
Senior LaMarcus Lowe earned another career high in the win over Loyola Wednesday. Just four games after scoring a then-career-best 13 at Green Bay, Lowe scored 14 Wednesday to erase that mark. Lowe was an efficient 6-of-7 from the floor in the win. The big man has registered double figures four times this season, all Detroit wins.
WIRE-TO-WIRE
Wednesday's win vs. Loyola featured a wire-to-wire lead for Detroit, the third time UDM has turned that trick this season. The two other occurances were vs. Western Michigan (Dec. 8) and vs. Butler (Jan. 8). Detroit has had a lead in all but one game this season (Dec. 11 at #15 Alabama).
GETTING IT GOING FROM DOWNTOWN
UDM started the season hitting 61-of-227 (.269) from the three-point line, but has turned it on lately. In this seven-game stretch, the Titans have connected on 39-of-104 (.375) since Dec. 31, with the team recording a 5-2 mark during that period.
REJECTION ROW
A pair of current Titans are in the top four all-time in career blocked shots: Eli Holman sits third with 149 swats and LaMarcus Lowe moved into fourth with 134 career blocks. Holman needs six to pass Brian Humes for second-most all-time while Lowe is just 15 away from his fellow teammate. The career leader is Terry Tyler, who threw aside a whopping 359 shots in his career from 1976-78.
