Jesuit Basketball Spotlight
WASHINGTON, DC -- For the second week in a row, a Titan was honored by the Jesuit Basketball Spotlight as freshman
Shareta Brown (Grand Blanc, MI/Grand Blanc) was named to the JBS Honor Roll on Tuesday night.
Each week, the Jesuit Basketball Spotlight honors five players by naming them to the Jesuit Honor Roll as well as tabbing one player the Jesuit Player of the Week.
Joining Brown on the Jesuit Honor Roll is Jacy Bradley of Saint Louis, Alex Cowling of Loyola Marymount, Regis' Tae'lor Purdy and Kacie Sowell of Seattle, while Georgetown's Sugar Rodgers was named the Jesuit Player of the Week.
Brown had another strong week in helping the Titans start off 2-0 in the Horizon League and extending their winning streak to five games. She averaged 15.5 points and 8.5 rebounds in UDM's two games, headlined by her fifth double-double of the year as she tallied 23 points and 13 rebounds in the win over Butler.
It is the second time this season she has been named to the JBS Honor Roll and the second-straight week that a Titan was honored as sophomore
Senee Shearer (Detroit, MI/Pershing) garnered the accolade last week.
The Jesuit Basketball Spotlight project is a nationwide effort to identify basketball games between Jesuit schools and, through those games, bring greater positive awareness to Jesuit education and mission. This project was developed by the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU) in response to member institutions wanting to spread the word of Jesuit higher education through the more than 90 basketball games in which Jesuit institutions play each other.
