2012-13 Schedule

DETROIT (11/30/12) – The University of Detroit Mercy men's tennis coach Grant Asher has released the schedule for the 2013 spring season that will open on January 11.  Home indoor matches will take place in Southfield, Mich., and will be played at The Franklin Athletic Club while outdoor matches will be held on UDM's campus at the Titan Tennis Courts on the James K. Campbell Complex.
 
Detroit opens the season with a pair of in-state rivals at Western Michigan on January 11, and at Michigan State the next day.  It returns to the Motor City for a morning match against new opponent TCU on January 19, before hosting non-conference foe Toledo the next evening.
 
UDM will hit the road when it travels to Muncie, Ind., to face Ball State (1/25) and head further south to Cincinnati to match-up with Xavier (1/26).  Detroit will return home to host three matches in February against Grand Valley (2/1), cross-town rival Wayne State (2/2) and it will end the month with a Sunday match against Dayton (2/24). 
 
The Titans open Horizon League play when they travel to Youngstown State on March 23, and meet with the women's team for a dual match at Cleveland State the next day. UDM will host Wright State (3/30) to wrap-up the month of March.
 
Detroit continues HL play when it travels to Chicago for a match with UIC (4/6) and then in a dual match with the women's team at Valparaiso (4/7).  UDM will come back to Detroit to complete its home schedule with Northern Illinois (4/12) before traveling to Indiana for two non-conference matches against IUPUI (4/13) and IPFW (4/14).  UDM will conclude its regular season with a conference match against defending HL Champion Green Bay (4/21) that will be played at Valparaiso. 

The Horizon League Championship will once again take place in Indianapolis, Ind., at North Central High School's Barrbara S. Wynne Tennis Center on April 26-28, with the top-six teams advancing to post-season play.
 
UDM finished 2012 with a 9-15 overall mark and a 3-4 record in the Horizon League taking six of ten matches at home. The Titans made the HL Tournament only to fall in the first round to No. 4 Cleveland State, 4-3.
