2013 Schedule
DETROIT (12/3/12) – University of Detroit Mercy women's tennis head coach Pjotrs Necajevs has announced the 2013 spring schedule, which includes six home matches for the Titans. Indoor home matches will take place in Southfield, Mich., at the Franklin Athletic Club, while outdoor matches will be held on UDM's campus on the Titan Tennis Courts at the James K. Campbell Complex depending on the weather.
UDM will open the spring schedule in Ohio when the Titans face Xavier (1/18), before traveling to East Lansing to face in-state rival Michigan State (1/27). Following a trip to Ypsilanti on February 1 to do battle with Eastern Michigan, the Titans will host Dayton on Feb. 24 to finish the month.
Detroit will open March with another home match and this time against cross-town rival Wayne State (3/1), before hosting a dual match with former Horizon League opponent, Butler, on March 15.
Following the Butler contest, the Titans will hit the road for a match against Duquesne (3/16) in Pittsburgh, Pa., before opening Horizon League play at Youngstown State (3/22) and at Cleveland State (3/24). The month will conclude with a home match against Wright State (3/30).
April will open up with a pair of road matches against league foes as Detroit will face UIC (4/5) and Valparaiso (4/7) before returning home for a weekend doubleheader against Green Bay (4/19). The Titans will end the dual-match season in the Motor City against Milwaukee (4/20).
The Horizon League Championships will take place on April 26-28, in Indianapolis, Ind., at North Central High School.
UDM finished the 2012 season with a 7-13 (3-5 HL) record and entered the Horizon League Tournament as the No. 6 seed and defeated No. 3 seeded Milwaukee, 4-3, to advance to the semifinals for the sixth straight season.
