Detroit has been off for a week since dominating Lourdes at home last Monday, 101-50. Sophomore Shareta Brown set a school record with 43 points and comes into the game leading the nation in scoring at 25.1 ppg. Senior Yar Shayok grabbed a season-high 15 rebounds in the contest, while scoring eight points, and sophomore Audrey Matteson dished out a career-best 10 assists. UDM shot 62.9% from the field in going over 100 points for the first time since Jan. 30, 1999, when the red, white and blue scored 101 at Butler.

A win by the Titans would be their third non-conference road victory of the season, the most since Detroit had three during the 2003-04 campaign.

IPFW has dropped four in a row and five of its last six games and enters the match-up at 3-7 overall. The Mastodons are coming off a 64-36 road setback at Michigan State on Sunday. IPFW has played a common opponent on the season falling at Ball State, 53-46, while also losing a road game at HL-rival Valparaiso, 82-73.

Junior Amanda Hyde leads the team in scoring at 19.2 points per game, which includes a 43-point effort against Southern Illinois. She has been in double figures in nine of IPFW's 10 games and also tops the team with 3.3 apg. Haley Seibert is second on the team in scoring at 7.9 ppg., while Stefanie Mauk leads the team in rebounding at 7.2 per game.

Following the game, the Titans will return home for their final game in Calihan Hall in 2012 as UDM hosts Madonna on Saturday. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m., and it will be a special day to come out and cheer for the red, white and blue as Detroit's honors its women's basketball alumni and pay tribute to the late Titan great Lisa Blackburn.

THE DETROIT-IPFW SERIES
The Titans and Mastodons will be meeting for the seventh time with Detroit holding a decisive 5-1 edge in the series.

UDM is 3-0 at home all-time against IPFW, including last year's 90-60 victory, but fell in its last appearance in Fort Wayne, 78-66, in 2010.

AGAINST THE SUMMIT
Detroit has played two teams currently in the Summit League in its history and has posted a 16-7 record versus those clubs.

Detroit is 11-6 against Oakland and 5-1 against IPFW.

VERSUS THE HOOSIER STATE
Detroit has done a fine job when it comes to taking on teams from Indiana as UDM is 72-47 all-time against schools in the Hoosier State.

OH LORDY, SHE WENT FOR 40
43 to be exact as the Titans have a new school record holder in sophomore Shareta Brown.

Brown broke the Titan single-game mark of 42 by Jeanie Hill (2/15/97 at Northern Illinois) in last Monday's game at Lourdes in leading Detroit to a 101-50 victory.

The second-year forward hit a career-best 17 field goals going 17-of-24 from the field and 9-of-10 at the free throw line.

The 43-point game also broke the Calihan Hall single-game record of 39 points, set by Cassandra Pack against Xavier on Jan. 12, 1987, and is also tied for the highest by a player in Division I this season.

BROWN NOW 4TH IN HL HISTORY
Shareta Brown didn't just break the UDM school record, her 43 points was also the ninth 40-point game in Horizon League history and the fourth highest total trailing only Wright State's Tiffany Webb (49), Xavier's Carol Madsen (46), and Milwaukee's Traci Edwards (45).

Below is a list of the 40-point games in MCC/Horizon League history

49 - Tiffany Webb (Wright St.) at Butler – 1/16/03
46 – Carol Madsen (Xavier) vs. LaSalle – 2-10-94
45 - Traci Edwards (Milwaukee) at Loyola – 2/21/08
43 – Shareta Brown (Detroit) vs. Lourdes – 12/10/12
42 – Traci Edwards (Milwaukee) vs. Cleveland St. – 1/20/07
42 – Jeanie Hill (Detroit) at NIU – 1/15/97
40 – Audra Cook (Cleveland St.) vs. Akron – 12/15/97
40 - Kim Chandler (Detroit) at Butler - 1/18/88
40 – Charmo Stallworth (NIU) vs. Milwaukee – 3/2/96

#WHAT CAN BROWN DO 4 YOU
Sophomore Shareta Brown's offensive game has her among the nation's leaders as she is currently leading the country in scoring at 25.1 points per game.

Brown just broke the Titan school record with 43 points in a game, the third time this season - and the fifth time in her career - that she has been above 30.

Her 43-point outburst is tied with IPFW's Amanda Hyde for the highest in Division I.

In fact, with her 35 at home against Western Michigan and 34 at Eastern Michigan this season, she now has three of the top 20 scoring efforts in NCAA Division I this year.

TITANS EXPLODE FOR 101
Detroit set a new record in the Coach Rademacher era with 101 points in its 101-50 victory over Lourdes.

It was just the seventh time in school history that the Titans have scored in triple digits and the first time since Jan. 30, 1999, when they fell at Butler, 116-101.

Below is a list of 100-point games
115 – vs. Wayne State (W, 115-45) - 12/2/86
111 – vs. Akron (W, 111-72) - 12/6/96
109 – vs. Marshall (W, 109-54) - 3/7/80
102 – at Xavier (W, 102-67) - 1/13/86
102 – vs. Kentucky (L, 107-102, 2OT) - 12/28/84
101 – at Butler (L, 116-101) - 1/30/99
100 – vs. Owens Tech (W, 100-44) - 1/9/78

GETTING TO 70
The Titans are 30-6 when they score 70 or more points - and 8-1 when they score 80 or more - under head coach Autumn Rademacher

FAMBRO STEPPING UP
Senior Demeisha Fambro posted her fourth-straight game in double figures with 11 points against Lourdes. It was also her fifth double-digit scoring effort on the season.

The four-straight games in double figures ties her career-best with the four-straight to open up her sophomore season.

Since being inserted into the starting line-up against Western Michigan on Nov. 28, she is averaging 15.2 ppg., 5.2 rpg., and shooting 44.2% from the field in four games.

Prior to that, she was averaging 8.0 ppg., 4.2 rpg., and hitting 35.5%.

She started the streak with a season-high 18 points on 8-of-13 shooting, while tying her career-best with nine rebounds, against WMU, and followed that with 17 at Ohio - where she had a personal 9-0 run that got Detroit back in front and sparked a 22-3 spurt - and added 15 points at Ball State.

On the year, Fambro is averaging 11.2 ppg. - second on the team - and 5.1 rpg., third on the squad.

DOMINATING THE BOARDS ALREADY
Detroit has outrebounded its opponents in all nine games and currently owns a + 9.3 rebounding margin, good for first in the Horizon League and 25th in the nation.

UDM dominated the boards against #6/7 Penn State with a 46-31 advantage. UDM also completely owned the boards versus Canisius (44-28), WMU (49-36), at Ohio (48-37) and against Lourdes (42-25).

Last season, Detroit won the battle of the boards in 23 of its 34 games, including 11 times by a double-digit margin.

SHAYOK NEARING 1000
Senior Yar Shayok is now 30 points away from becoming the 17th player in school history to reach 1,000-career points.

Shayok is currently 18th in school history with 970 points and will pass former teammate Sandi Brown (983) on her way to reaching the 1,000-point barrier.

The fifth-year senior – who redshirted after playing just two games as a freshman due to a foot injury – is averaging 7.2 points this season and 9.1 points per game in her career.

She tallied 7.2 ppg, last season and had her best year to date as a redshirt freshman recording 11.8 ppg..

OFFENSE WINS GAMES, DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS
Not to be lost in the recent offensive games Detroit has posted has been the play of the Titan defense.

UDM has held an opponent to under 60 points in six of its nine games, with the only two teams to score more in regulation a pair of Big Ten programs in Michigan (70) and Penn State (80), while Ball State had 73 in overtime, but just 57 in the first 40 minutes of action.

The Titans have also forced opponents to shoot under 40% seven times, including two dominant defensive efforts against WMU and Lourdes.

Detroit held the Broncos to just 27.5% shooting as WMU was 19-of-69 from the field, 3-of-14 from behind the arc and forced 19 turnovers - 15 in the first half.

Against Lourdes, the Titans held the Gray Wolves to 17-of-56 from the field and forced a season-high 22 turnovers.

WHAT AN OFFENSIVE SHOW
In the Titans' 101-50 victory over Lourdes, Detroit came away with season highs in field goals (39) and field-goal percentage (62.9%).

It was the highest field-goal percentage the Titans have connected on since setting a school record with 65.5% in a 90-60 win last year against IPFW.  The 39 field goals were the most since UDM had 50 versus Wayne State in a 115-45 win on Dec. 2, 1986.

It was also the second time this season that the red, white and blue recorded at least 35 field goals in a game and shot over 50.0% from the field, accomplishing that feat against Western Michigan on Nov. 28.

In that game, Detroit shot 54.7% hitting 35-of-64 in a 97-57 win.

WE OWN THE PAINT
With its two highly-skilled post players in senior Yar Shayok and sophomore Shareta Brown, and its' guards ability to get inside, Detroit is currently outscoring its opponents, 338-190, in the paint on the year.
During the 2011-12 campaign, Detroit owned a 1012-630 advantage in points in the paint.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HOME & AWAY
While Detroit is 11-2 at home against non-conference foes in its last 13 games, UDM is 7-19 on the road against non-league opponents since 2008.

IN DOUBLE FIGURES AGAIN
With her school record 43 points her last time out, sophomore Shareta Brown has now scored in double figures in 40 of the 43 games she has played in, including 29-straight.

The last time she did not net double figures was on Dec. 31, 2011, when she had eight in the win over Valparaiso.

During the 29-game stretch, she has posted 20 points or more on 15 occasions, including 30 or more five times.

In her career, Brown is averaging 19.5 ppg., and has already scored 837 points in just 43 games.

SENIOR PRIDE
After coming off the bench for most of last season - and making the most of it by earning the HL Sixth Player of the Year - senior Yar Shayok has transitioned back to the starting line-up in great form.

She is currently tied for first on the team and fourth in the Horizon League in rebounding (9.8), which includes four double-digit efforts.

She grabbed a season-high 15 against Lourdes, 14 versus Canisius and a 10-rebound performance against #6/7 Penn State and Western Michigan

The 15 caroms against the Gray Wolves marked the 41st time in her career that she has pulled down at least 10 boards in a game.

YAR ETCHES HER NAME IN SCHOOL RECORD BOOK
Senior Yar Shayok is currently second in school history with 940 rebounds, and unless she has one of the greatest rebounding years in NCAA history, she will leave UDM in second place behind Cheryl Williams (1,368).

In her career, she is averaging 8.8 rebounds and has 41 games with double-digit rebounds, including 17 as a redshirt freshman and 16 as a sophomore. She pulled down 10.2 rpg., as a sophomore, a number that ranks fourth among the single-season records at UDM.

Shayok has earned a number of awards in her career, including the Horizon League Sixth Player of the Year in 2012, the HL Newcomer of the Year and All-League Second Team in 2010 and All-Defensive Team in 2011.

LENDING A HAND
While scoring 101 points against Lourdes, Detroit racked up another season high with 26 assists against the Gray Wolves.

It is the most assists by the Titans since they posted 27 in a 93-56 win over Wright State on Jan. 29, 1998.

Detroit is currently leading the Horizon League with 15.3 assists per game, and has totaled 14 or more assists in seven of its nine games on the year.

COACH RADEMACHER APPROACHING THIRD PLACE
Head coach Autumn Rademacher has already accomplished a tremendous amount as a player and coach at Detroit and she is nearing another milestone.

She currently has 67 career victories and is just three behind Sue Kreszewski (1977-80) for third place in school history.

Fred Procter (1990-96) leads UDM with 93 wins, while DeWayne Jones (1983-90) is at 91.

I LOVE SHARING
Sophomore Audrey Matteson tallied a career-high 10 assists in the Titans' win over Lourdes on Dec. 10.

It was the most assists by a Titan since Jalesa Jones was credited with 10 in UDM's 76-75 double overtime triumph at Eastern Michigan in 2008.

The 10 helpers pushed her to the team lead with 34 assists and 3.8 assists per game – ranking fourth and fifth respectively, in the Horizon League.

THIS HOOSIER CAN PLAY
Besides her offensive showcase, sophomore Audrey Matteson has stepped up her game in all facets this season.

Her 17 treys lead the team, while she is third on the squad in shooting at 41.3%.

She has grabbed at least five rebounds in eight of UDM's nine games, including a huge effort at Ohio with a career-best 13 rebounds, most coming at a time when UDM needed her as leading rebounder Shareta Brown was on the bench in foul trouble.

She is also second on the team with nine steals and tops the team with 3.8 assists per game.

THE MAD HATTER
Junior Megan Hatter has seen her production double since being moved out of the starting line-up for rotation flexibility.

She was averaging 3.2 ppg., in the first five games, but has tallied 6.7 ppg., in the last four with a season-high eight points against Western Michigan and at Ball State.

She also had six rebounds versus WMU, the 13th time in her career she has posted five or more rebounds, and in those contests, UDM is 11-2.

UDM IS A RUDE HOST
UDM is 3-0 at home this season and has won nine-straight games on Dick Vitale Court dating back to last year.

The nine-straight wins in the Motor City are the most since it won10-straight during the 1996-97 campaign.

The school record is 17 consecutive victories, which was rolled up during the 1985-86 and 1986-87 seasons.
In Detroit's history, the Titans have compiled six home winning streaks of 11 games or more.

With the UDM men's team having won 14 in a row, Calihan Hall has not seen a loss since Jan. 14, 2012, when the women fell to #14/12 Green Bay, 68-59.
