SERIES WITH TOLEDO
This will be the 51st meeting between Detroit and Toledo, with the Rockets owning a 27-23 lead. Toledo won the last meeting, 73-63, during the 2006-07 season. Detroit's last win in the series came during the 2005-06 season, when the Titans topped the Rockets, 65-63, in Calihan Hall.
ABOUT THE ROCKETS
Toledo (2-5) led for the first 39 minutes, but Cleveland State capitalized on four UT turnovers in the final four minutes to rally for a, 78-73, victory over the Rockets on Saturday afternoon at the Wolstein Center.
Toledo shot 52.1 percent in the contest and received season-best scoring performances from junior forward Matt Smith (20 pts.), junior forward Reese Holliday (16 pts.) and freshman center Nathan Boothe (15 pts.). UT returns its entire starting lineup, including second-team All-MAC honoree Pearson and 2011-12 MAC Freshman of the Year Julius Brown, who were both named to the West Division preseason All-MAC squad.
TITANS LOVE CALIHAN
Detroit is 2-0 this year at home and has won 10-straight in Calihan Hall dating back to last season. The Titans have averaged 75.2 points per game over that stretch, while only allowing opponents to score 64 points on Dick Vitale Court. Detroit's last loss at home came on Jan. 6, 2012 against Valparaiso, 73-71.
DETROIT LOVES THE 80's
This season the Titans are a perfect 2-0 when scoring 80 or more points and have extended their winning streak to 16 games when doing so. Last year Detroit finished undefeated (9-0) when reaching the 80-point mark. TITANS ON REGIONAL/NATIONAL TELEVISION
The Titans 2012-13 men's basketball television schedule recently grew with the addition of three FOX Sports Detroit broadcasts. FSD, the same station that carries the “Detroit Titan Court Report” along with Detroit Pistons, Tigers and Red Wings games, will once again partner with the Titans to strengthen one of the more impressive television packages in the Horizon League.
Those games bring the total number of regional and national televised appearances to 14, including a minimum of 10 on the ESPN family of networks and one Horizon League "Game of the Week". The three-game slate on FSD begins Dec. 15 when the Akron Zips visit Calihan Hall for a noon tip. More than a month later, the Titans face conference rival UIC with a 6:30 p.m. match-up on Jan. 19, before hosting Loyola at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 26.
