DAYTON, Ohio-- Visiting Detroit closed the game on a 43-22 run to claim a 71-55 win at the Ervin J. Nutter Center Wednesday night in Horizon League action.  The win gave Detroit its fourth victory in a row and ninth in its last 11.

WSU (12-16, 7-9 HL) led 33-28 before the final media timeout of the first half, but Detroit scored the final dozen of the opening period to wrestle away control of the game for good.

Detroit (16-12, 10-6 HL) was led by junior Jason Calliste, who hit three triples en route to a team-high 14 points. Four Titans were in double figures scoring as Eli Holman added 12, Doug Anderson 11 and Chase Simon 10 for Detroit.  Holman had his third double-double of the season with 10 rebounds to go along with his dozen points.

Detroit opened the scoring on a Calliste three and managed a seven-point margin midway through the first half.  A 14-4 spurt pushed the Raiders in front, 28-25.  Moments later, with the score 33-28 in favor of the home team, Chase Simon and Ray McCallum knocked down back-to-back treys to spark Detroit's half-ending run. From that point, it was all Titans as they closed the half on a 12-0 run to take a seven-point advantage into the locker room and never looked back.

The Titans continued the roll in the second half, squandering just 22 points to the Raiders on four made field goals. The lead was eight after an A.J. Pacher tip-in, but another Calliste triple moved the advantage to double figures where it stayed for the duration.

The Titans will play their final regular season home game this Saturday when they host a SEARS BracketBusters contest.  James Madison will be the opponent for a 2:00 p.m. tip on the Horizon League Network.

Notes: With the win, Detroit swept its fourth HL series this year (Butler, Green Bay, Loyola) ... Detroit improved to 12-4 in games that Jason Calliste scores at least 10 points this season ... All 10 Titan players that dressed saw game action ... Detroit moved within a half-game of second-place Cleveland State (10-5) ... Those teams will play at the Wolstein Center next Thursday (Feb. 23) ... Wright State's 22 second-half points tied for the lowest output by a Detroit opponent this season in the second period (Alabama State) and tied for the second-lowest in any half (Lake Erie- 20 in first half) ... UDM had 15 turnovers to WSU's 14, the first time in 16 games that a Detroit opponent has had fewer turnovers.
