DETROIT -- In two years, the Detroit Titans Court Report has profiled and followed the Titans from the start of the season all the way through the NCAA Tournament and for its extraordinary programing this past year, the series on FOX Sports Detroit won a Michigan Emmy on Saturday night.
“The people at FOX Sports Detroit do a terrific job with the Detroit Titans Court Report and it is truly a well-deserved honor,” said Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs Jason Horn. “FS Detroit has been a solid broadcast partner and the show has really increased our fan base and has given people a chance to see all the great stories and great moments that UDM had during our run to the Horizon League Championship and NCAA Tournament.”
The Emmy was from the Michigan Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, which held its 34th Annual Emmy Gala at the MotorCity Casino Sound Board Theatre.
The Detroit Titans Court Report - produced by Alex Wright, Chad Schwartzenberger and Kevin Guralewski – won the award in the Sports Program Series category over the Ford Lions Report LIVE (WXYZ), Tigers Live Comp. Reel (FS Detroit) and the Tigers Live –Justin Verlander No-Hitter (FS Detroit).
FOX Sports Detroit - the home state station for Titan men's basketball games that has provided statewide coverage of UDM - has now won over 90 Emmys since 2000.
The show is a monthly all-access look at UDM's men's basketball program and featured six episodes this past season, broadcasted nationally on the cable sports network—all in High Definition— with numerous re-airs throughout FSD's lineup.
The 30-minute show, which features local personalities such as Ryan Field, Justin White, and Shannon Hogan, provided a look inside the Titan program with player features, interviews and highlights. The 2011-12 series was the program's second year following the five-episode debut during the 2010-11 campaign.
