Women’s Basketball Hosts A Pair Of Camps Over The Weekend

DETROIT -- The weekend started with some of the top prospects in the state of Michigan and Ohio, and ended with a full day of action as the Titan women's basketball team held two camps this weekend.

“We were happy with the overall attitude, effort, and turnout for both our Elite and Team Shootout camps,” said UDM assistant coach and camp director Emily Samuelson. “We had players and teams from all over the state of Michigan and Ohio and it gave us an opportunity to get to know and work with some great young talent.”

The camp season for the women began with the Detroit High School Elite Camp on Friday as more than 50 prospects were on hand. All the future collegiate athletes had a chance to display some of their skills in front of the UDM coaching staff. The campers were also put through skill development drills and were given an NCAA rules education session.

On Saturday, the attention turned to team play with the Annual Titan Team Shootouts. The event brought 12 teams into Calihan Hall for a full day of activity that guaranteed three games to each team. Registered officials were also present to create an even better game atmosphere for all the players in attendance.

The two camps are the only scheduled ones in the summer hosted by the Detroit women's basketball team. For more information on other Titan camps this summer, click here.
