DETROIT—Two days of camps ended on Wednesday night as the
Ray McCallum Team Shootouts saw two great days of basketball action.
“There were a lot of teams here and over the course of Monday and Wedneaday, we saw a lot of good young players,” said Coach McCallum. “The games were fun to watch and I know that all the kids really got some great exposure playing in this type of atmosphere.”
The first session of the Team Shootouts was held on Monday with 18 teams taking the court starting at 10:00 a.m. The action – which guaranteed at least three games to each travel team that attended – lasted until 8:00 p.m.
All of the games were played on Dick Vitale Court in Calihan Hall as the court was broken up into three sections, allowing for three games at one time and a lot of fast-paced action. Game officials were also on hand.
Wednesday was no different as once again 18 teams filled Calihan Hall.
Coach McCallum also spoke to a number of teams throughout the two days, letting all the kids know about the importance of working hard in the classroom as well as on and off the court.
With both sessions of the Team Shootouts ending, the Titans men's basketball camp season is now over.
