BRISTOL, Conn. -- One of the first pieces to the 2012-13 schedule was unveiled today as the defending Horizon League champion Detroit Titans will invade the Big Apple to face St. John's as part of the ESPN College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon. The game is set for Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 2 p.m., at Carnesecca Arena on the campus of St. John's University and will be televised live on ESPN.

It will be the fifth-straight year that ESPN will celebrate the opening of the college basketball season with a marathon of college basketball coverage across ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN3.com.

The Titans are coming off one of their best seasons recording 22 victories – tied for sixth best in program history – en route to winning the Horizon League Championship and earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, where they faced national runner-up Kansas in the second round.

The contest will be a rematch of Detroit's 69-63 victory over the Red Storm last season in the Motor City, a game that saw the Titans dedicate their home to Dick Vitale and was televised on ESPN2.

It will also mark UDM's first trip to New York City since the red, white and blue advanced to the semifinals of the NIT in 2001. That season, Detroit defeated Bradley, Connecticut and Dayton to move to the semifinals in Madison Square Garden, where it fell to Alabama and Memphis to place fourth.

The Titans are set to return three starters and seven players from last year's championship squad, including 2012 HL Championship MVP in junior Ray McCallum, 2011 Co-Team MVP senior Nick Minnerath, three-point specialist junior Jason Calliste and human highlight reel in senior Doug Anderson.

The marathon covers 11 men's basketball games across 24 hours, beginning at 12 a.m. ET on Tuesday, Nov. 13.
