AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (8/14/12) -- She just finished taking summer classes at Detroit, but freshman
Rosanna Reynolds (Canton, MI/Divine Child) still had one more prep game to play as she took part in the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan's (BCAM) 33rd Annual All-Star Festival at the Palace of Auburn Hills over the weekend.
Reynolds – who played her high school ball at Divine Child, leading her squad to a state championship in 2011 – was on the A/B Black squad. She tallied six points, three assists, two steals and a rebound as her team was edged by A/B White, 72-69.
She ended her high school career as a three-time All-State and All-Catholic League honoree, earning All-State Dream Team as a senior. She was one of just 10 players named to BCAM's “Best of the Best” squad as a senior and was tabbed the Most Outstanding Player in the Final Four in 2011, when she guided Divine Child to that state title. She was also featured as a
Detroit Free Press Scholar Athlete as a senior after posting a 4.030 grade-point average.
Her selection marked the second-straight year that a Titan was in the game as sophomore
Shareta Brown competed last year before her record-breaking freshman campaign at Detroit.
The BCAM All-Star Festival is an event that brings together the top senior boy's and girl's players in the state of Michigan for one last prep competition before they embark on their collegiate careers. Besides a pair of all-star games for both the boys and the girls, there is a three-point shooting contest and a slam dunk competition.
