DETROIT (9/12/2012) -- Titan women's basketball head coach
Autumn Rademacher has announced that
Kelley Wesp has been added to the staff as a graduate assistant coach for the upcoming year. Brittany Burkhardt – who served as a graduate manager last season – was also moved to a graduate assistant position.
“I am very excited about Kelley Wesp joining our staff,” Coach Rademacher said. “As a former collegiate player, she knows what it takes to succeed on and off the court, and will be a valuable part of our coaching staff as we look to continue off the success of last season.”
Wesp will assist in all duties with the women's basketball team, including opponent preparation, team practices and daily office responsibilities.
Wesp was a four-year letterwinner (2007-11) on the hardwood for Saginaw Valley State University. She played in 88 games in her career – including 61 starts – and averaged 6.5points, 2.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.2 steals per game.
As a junior, she started all 27 games and led the Cardinals in assists (2.6) and also finished second on the team in steals. She was also second on the squad in assists and steals as a sophomore.
Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Wesp attended Glen Este High School and was a three year varsity letterwinner in basketball. She was tabbed All-Conference three times and twice selected All-city. As a senior, Wesp added Third Team All-Southwest Ohio and FAVL Player of the Year to her playing achievements.
She graduated from Saginaw Valley in 2011 with a degree in business and is currently pursuing her master's in industrial and organizational psychology.
