DETROIT (1/20/13) –The University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball team will conclude its three-game homestand when it welcomes Wright State to Calihan Hall on Martin Luther King Day. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 21 and will be streamed live on the Horizon League Network. The game can also be seen live on the Comcast Xfinity Sports Channel 900.

LAST TIME OUT
Every Titan on the active roster scored, for the second time in a game this season, as the University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball team routed UIC 98-47 on Homecoming night at Calihan Hall. Detroit led by as many as 40 in the first half, before outscoring the Flames 45-33 in the second stanza to claim its 10th win at home this season.
The 51-point victory is the largest for Detroit since topping Puerto Rico – Mayaguez, 92-41, at the 1999 San Juan Shootout. It is also the largest margin of victory ever recorded in the Horizon League, passing the previous record of 46 when Marquette beat Loyola, 82-36, on Jan. 19, 1991.

Ray McCallum led the Titans with a game-high 25 points on 10-of-12 shooting, while classmate
Jason Calliste added 20 points and senior
Nick Minnerath pitched in 14. McCallum also grabbed a team-high seven rebounds, while dishing out five assists.
Doug Anderson also scored in double figures with 10 points, while
Jermaine Lippert recorded a career-high seven points to go along with four rebounds.
Detroit (12-7, 4-2 HL) won the battle on the boards, 39-32, and forced 21 UIC turnovers, which resulted in 32 points for the Titans. Detroit also dished out 18 assists while recording 10 steals and four blocked shots. Detroit shot 54.8 percent (34-62) overall, including 45.5 percent (10-22) from downtown, while the Flames shot 32.1 percent (17-53) overall. Detroit also finished 20-of-28 from the charity stripe, while UIC only connected on 9-of-18 from the foul line.
SERIES WITH WRIGHT STATE
This will be the 44th meeting between Detroit and Wright State, with the Titans owning a 23-20 lead. The Titans swept the season series last year, including a 69-53 win at Calihan Hall.
ABOUT THE RAIDERS
The Wright State men's basketball team led most of the game, only to see Valparaiso close out the game with a 14-4 run over the final 2:17 to pull out a 69-63 decision Saturday night at the Athletics Recreation Center.
Valparaiso shot 48 percent for the game and was 19-of-27 at the foul line while the Raiders shot 43 percent and were 18-of-25 at the charity stripe.
Cole Darling led all scorers with 22 for WSU while Reggie Arceneaux had 14 and Tavares Sledge eight points along with six rebounds.
TOP-10 IN THE NATION
Detroit currently leads the Horizon League in many categories but only scoring and turnover margin both rank among the top-10 in the nation. The Titans rank fifth in turnover margin (+5.9) and ninth in scoring (79.4). The Titans also lead the League in three point field goals made (151), steals (168), scoring margin (+9.7), assist to turnover ratio (1.3). Detroit also ranks second in assists (281) and third in blocked shots (74).

Jason Calliste is closing in on becoming the 38th player Titan history to reach the 1,000-point plateau in his career. Calliste enters Monday's game with 902 career points and is averaging 14.2 ppg, which ranks seventh in the Horizon League.
McCALLUM NAMED COUSY AWARD FINALIST

Ray McCallum was named a finalist for the 2013 Bob Cousy Collegiate Point Guard of the Year Award. This marks the second straight year that McCallum has been named to the final 20 of the Bob Cousy Award.
The annual honor, named for Hall of Famer and former Boston Celtic Bob Cousy, recognizes the top point guards in men's college basketball. Over 80 candidates have been nominated for the 2013 Bob Cousy Award.
CLIMBING THE CHARTS
Detroit junior
Ray McCallum currently leads the Titans in three categories this season scoring (18.7 ppg), assists (4.7 apg), and steals (1.7 spg.) and is also climbing up the career record board in all three. McCallum has 1,356 points (19th), 394 assist (9th) and 143 steals (9th) in his career. The last Titan to rank among the top-10 in all three of those categories was Rashad Phillips '01. Phillips finished his spectacular career with 2,319 points (1st), 548 assists (4th) and 190 steals (2nd). McCallum needs 246 points to reach that plateau.
TITANS RECEIVE VOTES IN MID-MAJOR POLL
Detroit, which has posted a 10-3 record over its last 13 games, is one of only three teams in the Horizon League to receive votes in the CollegeInsider.com Men's Mid-Major Top 25 Poll released this week. The Titans have 31 votes in this weeks edition of the poll, which is the fifth most in the receiving votes section. Valparaiso leads the league ranked 14th (353), while Wright State is ranked 23rd (68).
