Stabley Returns to UDM as Graduate Assistant

DETROIT (1/9/13) – The University of Detroit Mercy tennis programs have added UDM Alumni David Stabley to the coaching staff for the 2013 season.

"It is great to have David as part of the coaching staff." said women's tennis head coach Pjotrs Necajevs.  "We were teammates for two years here at UDM so he is familiar with the coaching philosophy here. He brings energy and a great personality as well as responsibility and dedicatiion to the UDM tennis programs."

Stabley will be a graduate assistant in the spring of 2013 after a four-year varsity tennis career under Asher when he was named team captain his senior year.  He was also a member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll all four years at UDM.

"We are fortunate to have David on our staff," said head men's coach Grant Asher. "He brings experience from his four years here at UDM.  He is a hard worker and will hold the guys to a high standard to make the team tougher in the Horizon League Championship."

The men's tennis team will open the dual match season against Western Michigan on Friday January, 11 while the women open play at Xavier on Jan. 18.
