"Off The Court" with Holly Hedemark

With the start of the 2013-14 season just under 10 days away and with one exhibition game already in the books, HLN Detroit's Holly Hedemark caught up with freshman guard Jarod Williams for the first episode of "Off The Court" covering the men's basketball team.

In his first collegiate exhibition game Williams finished with 16 points, four assists, three rebounds, two steals and one blocked shot in a 93-51 win over Lawrence Tech.

Williams was a two-year letterwinner at George Washington High School in Danville, Va., and was named the 2013 Danville Register & Bee All-Metro Boys' Basketball Co-Player of the Year. He averaged 16.6 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game his senior season and was also named to the All-Western Valley District first team and All-Region second team after leading the Eagles to a 21-3 overall record.
