LAST TIME OUT
The Titans dropped a hard fought contest to Temple 83-78 Thursday night at the Liacouras Center as part of the Chevrolet Gotham Classic. Junior guard Ray McCallum scored a game-high 21 points to lead UDM.

Detroit (19-11) led at the half, 39-31, and held a 74-71 lead with just over a minute left in regulation, before Temple (20-8) came back late, highlighted by back-to-back three-pointers from Khalif Wyatt, to take the lead 77-74. The Owls then held on down the stretch by making six straight free throws to complete the late comeback.

McCallum finished with 21 points, seven rebounds and six assists to lead the Titans, while classmate Jason Calliste had 19 points and Doug Anderson pitched in 17. Senior Nick Minnerath finished with 15 points to go along with a team-high nine rebounds, while Evan Bruinsma grabbed six boards.

SERIES WITH UIC
This will be the 40th meeting between Detroit and UIC, with the Titans owning a 25-14 lead. The two teams split their regular season series last year, with Detroit winning the last game, 70-66, at Calihan Hall. The Titans won the first meeting this year in Detroit 98-47.

ABOUT THE FLAMES
The UIC men's basketball team grinded out a 60-55 win over Wright State in a Horizon League showdown at the Pavilion Tuesday night. With the victory, the Flames clinched at least the No. 6 seed in next week's Horizon League Tournament, along with a first-round home game on Tuesday, March 5. For the second-consecutive contest, the Flames were led in scoring by senior guard Daniel Barnes, who chipped in 13 points.

With the win, UIC improved to 16-13 on the season, with a 7-8 mark in Horizon League play. Wright State dropped to 18-11 and 9-6. The Flames secured the regular season sweep over the Raiders, after defeating WSU, 55-49 at the Nutter Center on Jan. 26.

UIC clinched its first postseason home game since the 2007-08 season (March 4, 2008 vs. Youngstown State). The Flames' 16 wins also represents the most overall victories since the 2008-09 campaign. Barnes' 13 points came on a 5-for-8 effort from the field, including a pair of three-pointers. Junior forward Hayden Humes added 10 points on a trio of three-pointers. WSU was led by JT Yoho, who scored 16 points to lead three Raiders in double figures.

SENIOR DRIVEN
This season Detroit seniors Doug Anderson and Nick Minnerath have combined to average 27.3 points and 10.7 rebounds per game. Together the two Titan seniors are responsible for 34 percent of the scoring and 32 percent of the rebounding for Detroit.

CLIMBING THE CHARTS
Ray McCallum currently leads the Titans in three categories this season scoring (19.2 ppg), assists (4.7 apg), and steals (1.8 spg.) and is also climbing up the career record board in all three. McCallum has 1,577 points (12th), 445 assist (7th) and 161 steals (4th) in his career. The last Titan to rank among the top-10 in all three of those categories was Rashad Phillips '01. Phillips finished his spectacular career with 2,319 points (1st), 548 assists (4th) and 190 steals (2nd). McCallum needs 25 points to reach that plateau.

ALL ALONE
Ray McCallum is also close to becoming the first Titan ever to record 1,500 points (1,577), 500 rebounds (473), 500 assists (445) and 150 steals (167) in a career.

ONE OF THE BEST IN THE NATION
The Titans are one of the best teams in the nation in turnover margin where they rank sixth (+5.2) overall. Detroit has forced 485 turnovers, while only committing 310 through 28 games this season. VCU (+8.3), Louisville (+6.3), Arkansas (+6.0), Eastern Kentucky (+5.9) and Louisiana Tech (+5.3) are the only teams with a higher turnover ratio than the Titans.

RACKING UP SOME POINTS
As a team the Titans lead the Horizon League and rank seventh in the nation in scoring with 78.9 points per game. The Titans average 84.6 points per game at home, compared to 73.1 per game on the road, but the defense has stayed steady only giving up 68.9 at home and 70.5 on the road.

RED, WHITE AND BLUE
The Titans have worn three different uniform colors this season and have a winning record in two. Detroit is 11-3 in white uniforms this season, 5-4 in red and 3-4 in blue.

UP NEXT
Detroit, which clinched the No. 2 seed in the Horizon League Championship, will wait to see who its opponent is in the semifinals. The game is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. ET in Valparaiso, Ind. at the ARC and will televised on ESPNU.
