Horizon League Release

DETROIT (3/10/13) --
The 2013 Horizon League Championship bracket on the women's side had a few changes on the last day of the regular season, but the fields are all set with the Titan women receiving the No. 4 seed and hosting a home quarterfinals game against fifth-seeded Wright State.

The Titans (16-12, 9-7 HL) and Raiders (12-19, 6-10 HL) will meet on Wednesday on Dick Vitale Court in Calihan Hall with tip-off set for 7:00 p.m. UDM's lone Horizon League Championship was in 1997 as the team was led by current head coach Autumn Rademacher. The Titans have also made six title game appearances and have advanced to the semifinals 13 times.

The Green Bay Phoenix (26-2, 16-0) came out of the regular season as champions of the Horizon League for the 15th consecutive season and will be the top-seed in the tournament.

The HL Championship begins on Monday, Mar. 11, with a first round game featuring ninth-seed UIC (9-20, 5-11) playing at eighth-seed Valparaiso (10-19, 5-11).

The top seven seeds in the tournament get a bye into the second round that begins on Wednesday, Mar. 13.

Green Bay will play its first game on Mar. 13 against the winner of the UIC and Valparaiso contest. If the Phoenix win its second round match-up, they will host the semifinals and finals in the Kress Center.

If the Phoenix fall to the Flames or Crusaders, the highest remaining seed left in the tournament after the second round will be the host for the final two rounds.

Youngstown State (21-8, 11-5) is the second seed in the championship and will open the tournament by hosting seventh-seed Cleveland State (13-16, 5-11) on Wednesday night, while Loyola (15-14, 10-6) is the third seed and will host sixth-seeded Milwaukee (9-19, 5-11).

The semifinals are scheduled for Friday, Mar. 15, with game times of 6:00 and 8:30 p.m. (ET). The championship game is scheduled for Sunday, Mar. 17, at 1 p.m.  (ET) and will be televised live on ESPNU.

The last thing to wrap up the regular season will be the announcement of the Horizon League awards tomorrow (Mar. 11) at 2:00 p.m., which will be released live on HLN.
