INDIANAPOLIS (3/19/13) -- Detroit Titan sophomore Chloe Karoub has been named the Horizon League Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the week of March 11-17, announced the HL office today.

Karoub helped Detroit to a pair of victories last week as UDM defeated Duquesne and Butler. She won all four times she took the court in the two matches with a pair of singles and doubles wins.

In a 4-3 Titan victory at Duquesne, she won a thrilling three-set affair, 6-4, 4-6, 7-5, at second singles and cruised to an 8-1 triumph at third doubles.

In the Titans' 6-1 win over Butler, Karoub earned a straight-set 6-2, 6-4 victory at number two singles, while pulling out a 9-7 tally at second doubles. She has now won five-straight singles matches dating back to February, 2.

It is the first time in her career that she has been honored with the HL Player of the Week, and the second time this season a Titan has taken home the weekly accolade as Valery Kulikovskaya was tabbed back in early February.

The Titans also begin Horizon League action this weekend, visiting Youngstown State on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. and Cleveland State on Sunday at 3:00 p.m.
