EDISON, N.J. (3/5/2013) -- After a career day this past Saturday, junior Alex Maini was rewarded by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference as its Offensive Player of the Week, released on Tuesday afternoon.

Maini poured in a career-best five goals and totaled a career-high seven points in UDM's 12-10 setback to Quinnipiac. The seven points tied a Titan Field record and was the most scored by a Titan on its home turf in school history.

Maini scored Detroit's first two goals and had four of the first five markers – assisting on the other goal – in the first half alone. It was his fourth career hat trick as he took seven shots with five on net.

The award is the first for Maini and he is also the third Titan to win a weekly accolade this year following freshman Ryan Callaghan's Rookie of the Week honor on Feb. 11 and senior Jamie Hebden's Defensive Player of the Week recognition on Feb. 18.

The Titans will return to action next Saturday, Mar. 16, when the red, white and blue begin the MAAC portion of its schedule at Marist.
