Lexie McCormick were all recognized with the honor.
The Atlantic Sun introduced the new sport-by-sport Academic All-Conference teams in the 2011-12 academic year to recognize student-athletes who embody the conference's mission of Building Winners for Life. All the members of the team boast a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (GPA) or better, participated in at least half of their team's games this year, and have at least one year at the member institution.
Busch is a business administration major with a 3.88 cumulative GPA. McCormick is a nursing major with a 3.40 GPA, and Keuler is a business major with a 3.94 GPA.
Busch has played in 15 games this year providing intensity on the field that is unmatched. This year, she has 20 ground balls, 26 draw controls, 12 caused turnovers along with four goals. Two of those goals came against Kennesaw State on Senior Day this past Sunday at Titan Field when she also had a season-best five draw controls. Detroit won that contest over Kennesaw State by a 22-3 score.
UDM goalkeeper McCormick was named the Atlantic Sun Defensive Player of the Week on Feb. 25 and on March 11. She has held at least a share of the NCAA lead in total saves the last four weeks and has been the sole leader the last three. She posted a career-high 19 saves at Jacksonville on Apr. 14 and holds the team lead with 47 ground balls. She is also the school's all-time leader in goaltender victories after she posted the 11th of her career on Apr. 12 at Stetson.
Keuler is third on the team with 21 goals and 32 points along with has 17 ground balls. She tallied a career-high five goals in the conference opener against Howard at Titan Field in the team's 16-5 win. She also had two goals and one assist with a season-high four ground balls at Stetson and also played well in against Kennesaw State on Sunday posting a season-high three goals and three assists in Sunday's win over Kennesaw State.
The next game for the Titans will be in Jacksonville, Fla. for the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament this weekend. The Titans have clinched the No. 2 seed in the tournament with a 3-1 conference record and will play the No. 3 seed Stetson at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. A win in that game and the Titans will play the winner of the other semifinal game between No. 1 seed Jacksonville and No. 4 seed Kennesaw State in the championship game Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
