At sixth singles, Elena Strakhova dropped her first set, 5-7, but battled back to take the second set, 6-3. She was down 3-0 in the third set but fought back to take it, 7-5, and clinch the victory for UDM.

"This is a huge win for the program," said Necajevs. "We are rewriting the history from the beginning.  I would like dedicate this win to former players and supporters of Titan Tennis; we couldn't have done it without you."

Detroit is now 8-5 (2-2 HL) and will play at Valparaiso on Sunday.
