LAS VEGAS (7/16/13) - Former University of Detroit Mercy All-American point guard
Ray McCallum, continues to shine for the Sacramento Kings in the 2013 NBA Summer League, after recording a game-high 23 points with six steals in an 80-66 loss to Golden State Monday night.
McCallum, who finished with 11 points, eight rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocked shots in 30 minutes of action in his first game, came out in the second game on fire scoring the Kings first three points before finishing the night with 23 on 7-of-10 shooting with six steals, three rebounds and one assist.
McCallum, who is now averaging 17.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.5 steals, 2.5 assists and 1.0 blocked shot per game, is also ranked fifth in the NBA Kia Rookie Ladder, which ranks the top-10 rookies in the Summer League.
McCallum isn't the only UDM product playing for the Kings this summer as former Titan and All-Horizon League First Team member
Nick Minnerath is averaging 2.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 15 minutes per game.
Sacramento's next game will be tonight (Tuesday, July 16), as the Kings will face the Toronto Raptors at the Cox Pavilion. The game will be aired live on NBA TV at 6:00 p.m. ET.
