Women's Basketball Notebook: Jan. 14, 2014

Every week, the Titan notebook will give a little more insight into the odds and ends stats, storylines and notes that might have been overlooked during the previous week's action.

Murphy's Law – "Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong", at least that's the way it seems through the first 16 games as another injury hit the Titan team with senior Megan Hatter missing the last two games. The injury meant that for the last two contests, UDM was without three starters from its opening day line-up and the Titans also started their 11th different starting five against Oakland.

Closer & Closer – Senior Senee Shearer is just four points shy of 1,000 in her career as the three-point specialist is currently leading the Horizon League and is fifth in the nation with 3.38 three-point field goals per game.

Attendance Up – With 1,311 fans at the game against Oakland on homecoming, Detroit has seen three games this year played in front of 1,000 or more fans, including two by way of a non-doubleheader with the men's program. UDM had 2,156 fans in Calihan Hall to take on Michigan back in November.

All-Freshman Candidates – Megan Galloway and Reyna Montgomery have made an impact in their first year at the collegiate level and could be in the running for Horizon League All-Freshman accolades. Galloway tallied her first collegiate double-double last week against Cleveland State with 13 points and a season-high 10 rebounds, while Montgomery tied her season high with 11 points and grabbed a season-best eight rebounds with two assists versus Oakland.
