DETROIT (12/3/14) – The University of Detroit Mercy Department of Athletics has announced it will host Heroes' Day on Saturday, Dec. 6 when the Titans men's basketball team squares off against South Florida inside historic Calihan Hall.
The event is designed to honor all active, reserve and veteran members of the armed forces along with police, firefighters and first responders. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m.
Plans for the day include a halftime on-court performance by "The Cannon Brothers" a local youth trick ball handling duo. The K-9 Unit from Detroit Public Safety Foundation will also be present pre-game in the Hall of Fame area to do a presentation for the youth in attendance.

Detroit will return to Dick Vitale Court on Saturday (Dec. 13) as the Titans host No. 8 Wichita State at historic Calihan Hall. Tip-off is scheduled for 12 p.m. and will be televised nationally on ESPNU.
