Official Columbus Crew Release
COLUMBUS, Ohio (3/5/2014) -- The first University of Detroit Mercy men's soccer player to be drafted in the Major League Soccer SuperDraft signed his first pro contract on Wednesday as senior forward
Adam Bedell officially signed with the Columbus Crew.
Bedell was taken 45th overall by the Crew in the third round of the SuperDraft back on Tuesday, January 21, 2014.
"I am unbelievably excited to be a member of the Columbus Crew," said Bedell after being drafted by the Crew. "I have been waiting a long time for this moment and I'm ready to get to work and help the Crew win soccer games."
Bedell finished his Titan career among the leaders in several major statistical categories that include sixth all time in career points (67), goals (23), and assists (22). In the fall of 2013, Bedell finished tied for third in the Horizon League in points (21), fourth in goals (8) while tying for sixth in assists (5), respectively.
