DETROIT (6/24/14) – University of Detroit Mercy basketball fans will get an advanced look at the Titans new 24-hour TV network Wednesday, the Titan Classic Sports Network, as WADL (Channel 38) will replay the 1977 NCAA Sweet 16 game between Detroit and Michigan.
 
The game will air on WADL from 8-10 p.m., the night before the NBA draft. It will be produced and shown in a modern format that will serve, as a sample for how past games will air on the Titan Classic Sports Network when the station goes live in the fall as an over-the-air channel in conjunction with WADL.
 
In the 1977 Sweet 16 match-up, the Titans and Wolverines were tied at 68 in the second half before Michigan pulled away for an 86-81 victory. UDM's John Long scored 25 points, and Terry Tyler added 17. U-M's Phil Hubbard set an NCAA tournament record with 26 rebounds.
