Titans Sweep #VancouverTrip With 88-78 Win Over TWU

VANCOUVER (8/18/14)
- The University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball team completed its Canadian sweep with an 88-78 win over Trinity Western University on Monday night at the Langley Events Centre. Detroit finished a perfect 4-0 after playing four games in five days during its #VancouverTrip.
 
Five Titans scored in double figures led by senior forward Juwan Howard Jr. who finished with 15 points and eight rebounds, while junior center Patrick Ackerman recorded his second-straight night in double figures also scoring 15 points. Junior Patrick Onwenu scored 13 points, while sophomore guard Jarod Williams scored 11 to go along with six rebounds and five assists.
 
Junior guard Carlton Brundidge scored 10 points, while freshman Paris Bass scored nine to go along with seven rebounds. Senior guard Brandan Kearney was also active with seven points and five assists.
 
The Titans open their 2014 non-conference slate with a pair of exhibition contests against Siena Heights (Nov. 1) and Marygrove (Nov. 8), before starting regular season play against Rochester College on Nov. 14.
