Legends Classic Bracket

DETROIT (8/6/14)
– The final pieces to the 2014 Legends Classic Tournament were unveiled today (Wednesday, Aug. 6), as the University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball team will face the University of Michigan before heading to Toledo for a pair of games in the sub-regional.

The regional round game versus Michigan is set for Thursday, Nov. 20 at the Crisler Center.

Detroit and Michigan have met 27 times, with the Wolverines holding a 23-4 lead in the all-time series. Michigan won the last meeting 75-64 during the 2009-10 campaign in Ann Arbor. The last time Detroit defeated U-M was during the 1981-82 season. Joe Kopicki's 13 points, eight rebounds, and three assists led Detroit as the red, white, and blue earned a 55-51 triumph in Ann Arbor.

Following the second round matchup of the Legends Classic against Michigan the Titans will travel south to compete in the sub-regionals hosted by the University of Toledo. Detroit's first game will be on Monday, Nov. 24 against the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES). The winner of that game will then face the winner of the Bucknell/Toledo matchup in the championship game on Tuesday, Nov. 25. There will also be a consolation game held on Tuesday prior to the championship game.

The Titans return All-Horizon League forward and captain Juwan Howard Jr. along with All-League Freshman guard Jarod Williams to the court this season. Detroit will also welcome its 2014 signing class of Aaron Foster-Smith, Jaleel Hogan and Shy McClelland to Dick Vitale Court.
