Coach McCallum On 97.1 The Ticket
DETROIT (10/5/2015) -- The sounds of basketball was alive inside historic Calihan Hall as the University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball team held its first practice of the 2015-16 season on Monday.
"We are extremely excited. It has been a long off season, but we had a great off season and now it's time to put everything together," said head coach
Ray McCallum. "We have a lot of excitement and a lot of enthusiasm. We have veteran guys that are much improved and we have an influx of new guys that are excited about their opportunity."
The team began the day with a morning practice at 8:00 a.m., and then returned to Dick Vitale Court for an afternoon session.
"I am very excited especially since this is my senior year," said senior
Anton Wilson. "I want to bring a positive leadership and positive ways in which we can win a Horizon League Championship."
"It feels great just coming back in here with the guys," said senior
Carlton Brundidge.
The Titans return eight letter winners and nine players from last year's team, including the Horizon League Freshman of the Year
Paris Bass. Seven upperclassmen are also on the 13-man roster and eight players are back that started at least one game.
Detroit also has 15 home games on the docket.
New season tickets are currently on sale starting at just $99. Season ticket renewal information is also available by calling the Titan Ticket Office (313) 993-1700.
