Horizon League Release
INDIANAPOLIS (10/5/2015) -- His third race of the season produced extremely similar results for University of Detroit Mercy sophomore harrier
Ben Kendell as he was selected the Horizon League Cross Country Runner of the Week on Monday.
It is the third time this season – in just three races as well – that Kendell has won the weekly conference accolade. It is also the fifth time in his career he has garnered the award.
Kendell posted his third top-10 effort of the season as he once again set a personal record in taking fourth in the 8k Greater Louisville Classic in 24:46, a new event record for a Titan. His time was nine seconds faster than his previous 8k low of 24:55, set at last year's Horizon League Championship, and 39 seconds better than his run on the GLC course in 2014.
He also now has seven career top-10 effort in just 10 career races.
Kendell and the Titans will have this week off before running in their final regular season race, the Canisius Alumni Classic, on Oct. 17.
