Three Ristovski Sisters Square Off Sunday When Titans Host Michigan

Gameday Central vs. Michigan

DETROIT (11/14/2015) --
It'll be a family reunion of sorts Sunday afternoon at Calihan Hall when the University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team plays host to the University of Michigan in its second home contest at 2 p.m. Three sisters are set to battle on Dick Vitale Court when Detroit sisters and teammates Haleigh and Lola Ristovski host the Wolverines and elder sister Madison Ristovski. The game is set to be streamed live on ESPN3.com and the Watch ESPN Applications.

Madison is entering her senior season for U-M, while Lola is beginning her first for the Titans. Haleigh is in her third season with UDM. Haleigh and Madison have faced each other in the past two seasons, but this is the first time all three sisters will be playing in a collegiate basketball game on the same court.

All three players, natives of Sterling Heights, starred in high school at nearby University Liggett in Grosse Pointe Woods. Michigan has won both previous meetings involving the two older Ristovskis as U-M earned a 76-57 win last season and 83-63 triumph in 2013-14. Madison scored 14 points in their first meeting and five points last year, while Haleigh has totaled 17 rebounds in two meetings against Michigan.

The trio last played competitively on the same court in high school when all three started for University Liggett during the 2011-12 season, Madison's senior year, Haleigh's junior season and Lola's freshman campaign in high school. The trio reached the Class C state championship game and the three scored 53 of Liggett's 57 points in the state championship game, ultimately coming up just short of a state title.

Second Hall Rally Falls Just Short in Coach Scott's Debut
The Titans used a 15-4 second-half run in the 2015-16 season opener to pull within one point late in the fourth quarter, but the Titans fell to visiting Bradley, 75-67, on Friday night at Calihan Hall. The game was the head coaching debut for Bernard Scott, who was hired by the school in May. Haleigh Ristovski tallied a double-double with 15 points and a career-best 13 rebounds, while junior guard Rosanna Reynolds tallied a team-high 18 points for the Titans.

Detroit shot a school-record 37 three-pointers in the loss, sinking 12 attempts. Ristovski made five triples, including four in the first half. Nicole Urbanick added three makes from beyond the arc and was the third Titan in double figures with 13 points. Three freshmen -- Brittney Jackson, Taylor Malone and Lola Ristovski all made their collegiate debuts during the contest. Lola Ristovski tallied five points, four rebounds and two assists in 13 minutes for Detroit.

Last Time vs. Michigan
Reynolds tallied 17 points against Michigan last season, while Ristovski pulled down a team-high nine boards to go along with five steals. Urbanick went 2-for-2 from the floor and scored five points in her Detroit debut vs. Michigan. Detroit hit seven triples against the Wolverines last year.

All-Time Series
Detroit and Michigan are meeting for the 26th time in women's basketball. Michigan holds the edge, 13-12, over the Titans. UDM is 6-6 at home against the Wolverines. The Titans' last win over U-M was in 2010 when Detroit earned a 67-48 victory in Ann Arbor.

Up Next
Following the home game against the Wolverines, the Titans hit the road for a pair out East, playing road games at No. 9-ranked Maryland on Nov. 20 and St. Bonaventure on Nov. 24. Detroit returns home for four-straight following that trip.

Single-game tickets for both games are $6 for adults and $4 for children and seniors (60-or-over). Sunday will also be UDM Dental Day on campus with the first 300 children set to receive a free toothbrush kit. To order tickets visit DetroitTitans.com or call 313-993-1700.
