Horizon League Release
INDIANAPOLIS (11/23/2015) -- Just two games into his career and
Josh McFolley already has an award on his resume as the University of Detroit Mercy rookie was tabbed the Horizon League Freshman of the Week on Monday.
McFolley averaged 12.5 points per game along with 1.0 assists, 1.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals, while shooting 45.8 percent from the field.
He made an immediate impact in his first collegiate game as he led Detroit with 17 points against Central State. He became the first Titan to lead the team in scoring in his collegiate debut since Jerry Davis did so in 1978.
McFolley then added eight points at Pittsburgh last Friday.
The accolade is nothing new for McFolley, who was a member of the Detroit Free Press Dream Team as a senior in high school and was also All-Area and Class A First Team All-State by the Detroit News, All-Metro by the Detroit Free Press, and Honorable Mention All-State by the Associated Press. He went on to lead Detroit Western to a 26-0 record last year as well as district, regional and state title.
McFolley and the Titan host UM-Dearborn tonight, Nov. 23, at 7:00 p.m.
