DETROIT (12/14/2015) -- Titan Basketball WANTS YOU if you are a veteran or active military member on Saturday, December 19, as the high-flying Titans host Central Florida in a 1 p.m. game on Dick Vitale court inside historic Calihan Hall.
It will be Military Appreciation Day as Titan Basketball has "joined forces" with the Michigan Veterans Foundation. All veterans and active military members, with proper ID, can receive free tickets in advance or on game day and an additional ticket for a friend or family member. Others in the group can purchase tickets for half-price.
"It is an honor to participate in this great event, and we will be bussing in at least one hundred of our finest veterans to enjoy a good ballgame," said Michigan Veterans Foundation Executive Director Tyrone Chatman. "We are also happy to be providing a colorful honor guard and one of our vets will also be singing the National Anthem."
In addition to the ticket promotion, the first 2,000 attendees will receive Military Day Appreciation t-shirts sponsored by WADL TV-38, the official home of the Titans on television.
"We are honored to host these wonderful men and women of our Armed Forces who have given so much for this country," said UDM Director of Athletics
Robert C. Vowels, Jr. "We are planning to make this Veteran's event a yearly tradition."
