DETROIT (12/29/2015) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team will close out 2015 by hosting in-state foe Eastern Michigan University in a non-conference battle at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The game at Calihan Hall is set to be streamed on ESPN3.com and the Watch ESPN Application as well as WADL and Comcast 900 with play-by-play announcer

Detroit (4-6) has won four out of its last six contests, but head coach
Bernard Scott's team most recently fell at No. 24-ranked Michigan State on Dec. 21. Eastern Michigan (8-2) is on a four-game winning streak which includes a one-point victory over the University of Michigan.
The game against the Eagles will be Community Night in Titan Territory. Tickets for the game begin at $4, with adults getting into the game for $6.

Titans Fight in Loss at No. 24-Ranked Michigan StateBrianne Cohen and
Nicole Urbanick each scored 13 points, but the University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team fell at No. 24-ranked Michigan State, 81-42, on Dec. 21. The game at the Breslin Center was the final, road non-conference contest for Detroit in 2015.
Cohen tallied 13 points to lead Detroit (4-6) as she scored in double figures for the fourth-straight game. She also added a team-high eight rebounds and two blocks off the bench for the Titans. Junior guard
Rosanna Reynolds tied her career-high with five steals, including four in the first half, to go with seven rebounds and four assists.
Michigan State was the third Big Ten team that Detroit has faced in the first 10 games and the second ranked squad. Detroit hosted Michigan in its second game of the season and also visited No. 8 Maryland on the road.
The Titans did force Michigan State into 17 turnovers, while only committing 13 themselves. Detroit also led Michigan State in offensive rebounds during the contest, 12-11. Cohen had four offensive boards, while Reynolds and Urbanick each pulled down two offensive rebounds.
Rosie Nears 1,000 Point MilestoneRedshirt-junior guard
Rosanna Reynolds is quickly nearing the 1,000-point plateau. She leads the Titans in scoring this season and is 85 points away from the 1,000-point milestone for her Titan career. Reynolds surpassed the 800-point plateau mark during the Titans' game against No. 8-ranked Maryland and reached the 900-point mark early in the game against Western Michigan.
She would become the 20th player in Detroit women's basketball history to surpass the 1,000-point mark and first since Senee Shearer during the 2013-14 season. Reynolds has led the Titans in scoring in six of 10 games this year and leads the team with a 15.7 points per game average. Reynolds is also just one 3-pointer away from 100 for her career. She ranks 12th all-time with 99 made triples.
All-Time SeriesThe Titans are 14-10 all-time against Eastern Michigan, including 7-5 at home against the Eagles. Detroit is 5-5 in the last 10 meetings, but have dropped two-straight against EMU. The two squad met exactly one season ago on Dec. 30, with Detroit rallying at Eastern Michigan to force overtime. The Titans ultimately fell in that overtime, 75-71, to the Eagles. The last time the two teams met at home, Detroit fell in a high-scoring affair, 104-96.
Last Time Out Against Eastern MichiganDetroit trailed by as many as 15 points in the second half against Eastern Michigan last season, but scored 38 second-half points to force overtime in a game on Dec. 30, 2014.
Haleigh Ristovski and
Rosanna Reynolds each tallied double-doubles in the loss. Ristovski had a team-high 20 points, sinking six 3-pointers and playing 45 minutes in the contest. Reynolds added 19 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.
Jamaica Bucknor, Janay Morton and Cha Sweeney each scored 19 points for the Eagles, which scored six of the eight points in overtime to pick up the win.
Scouting Eastern MichiganThe Eagles (8-2) have won their last four contests, three of them coming on the road. Eastern Michigan earned victories over Harvard, Monmouth, Madonna and Michigan during the win streak. The Eagles trailed by 12 points entering the fourth quarter against U-M, 57-45, but out-scored the Wolverines 19-6 in the final stanza to earn the victory over the crosstown rivals. Eastern Michigan tied the game, 60-60, with 1:27 left on a jumper by Cha Sweeney and took the lead with 53 seconds remaining on a lay-up by Chanise Baldwin. Michigan tied the game, 62-62, but Phillis Webb hit the game-winning shot with 15 seconds left for a 64-63 win.
Eastern Michigan is averaging 77.8 points per game this season, while holding opponents under 70 points per game (69.0). Sweeney leads the squad at 18.7 points per game, while Morton (14.5 points per game) and Webb (14.0 ppg) also average in double figures for the Eagles. Baldwin leads the squad in rebounding at 8.3 boards per contest. Sweeney and Morton have combined for 77 assists this season for EMU.
Horizon League LeadersReynolds ranks sixth in the Horizon League in scoring (15.7 points per game), while ranking third in assists (4.4 per game).
Haleigh Ristovski is fifth in the conference in rebounding (8.2 boards per game).
Nicole Urbanick ranks eighth in the league in scoring (14.0 points per game), giving Detroit two players in the top 10 in scoring.
Sophomore forward
Brianne Cohen is fourth in the conference in field goal percentage (52.6 on 41-of-78 shooting). Reynolds ranks second in the HL in free throw percentage (86.5 on 32-of-37 free throws). Reynolds, who was second in the Horizon League in assist-to-turnover ratio last season, is third in that category this season (2.1 ratio on 44 assists to 21 turnovers). Ristovski ranks fifth in the conference in blocked shots with 15 (1.5 per game).
Haleigh Ristovski is also second in the HL in defensive rebounds (7.6 per game) and minutes played (36.7 per game). UIC's Ruvanna Campbell leads the conference in both of those categories.
Taking Care of the BallDetroit leads the Horizon League in fewest turnovers per game this season. The Titans have been ranked among the league leaders all season and currently averages just 13.9 turnovers per game, better than second-place Northern Kentucky (14.5 turnovers per game).
The Titans have had three games this year of 10 turnovers or fewer. Detroit turned the ball over just six times at St. Bonaventure and followed it up with just nine turnovers against Niagara in the team's first win of the year. UDM also had 10 turnovers in its most recent game against Western Michigan, including just five in the first three quarters. Earlier in the year against No. 8-ranked Maryland, Detroit had 14 turnovers, but just six in the second half against one of the top teams in the country in the Terrapins.
Cohen Continues Strong Play Off BenchSince her move to the bench early in the season,
Brianne Cohen has found her role as an instant scorer and rebounder for the Titans. She has scored in double figures in six out of the past seven games, reaching 19 points twice this season. She is third on the squad with an 11.3 points per game average and ranks third on the team in rebounding at 6.2 boards per contest. She also leads the team with 35 offensive caroms and has recorded six games of seven or more boards.
Cohen has also consistently got to the free throw line, making 30-of-43 shots from the charity stripe for a 69.8 success rate.
Block PartyThe Titans have the highest single-game block total in the Horizon League this season. Detroit had 12 rejections against IPFW in a 64-63 win. It's also believed to be the highest block total for a Titan women's basketball team in the past decade.
Haleigh Ristovski had a career-best six blocks in that contest.
Detroit ranks second in the Horizon League in blocked shots per game (4.6), trailing just UIC (5.3). Detroit has 46 blocks through 10 games and is on pace to surpass last year's total with ease. The Titans had 82 blocks in 30 games for a 2.7 blocks per game average in 2014-15.
Unbeaten StreakDetroit had its longest unbeaten streak since 2012-13 during its most recent homestand when the Titans finished 4-0 for a four-game win streak. The Titans earned home victories over Niagara, Cincinnati, Salem International and IPFW for its four victories and averaged 75.5 points per game in the win stretch.
Up NextThe Titans open the Horizon League schedule on Saturday, Jan. 2 against Youngstown State at 12 p.m. inside historic Calihan Hall. It's the first of a doubleheader with the men's basketball team against the Penguins. Detroit then hosts Cleveland State on Jan. 4 for a 5 p.m. contest.
