DETROIT (2/9/2015) -- It was another great year in the classroom for the Titans as the University of Detroit Mercy Department of Athletics honored 257 student-athletes and spirit team members on the Detroit Athletic Director's Honor Roll on Sunday, Feb. 8.
 
The students were recognized at halftime of the Titans' men's basketball game against UIC, which followed a pre-game reception for the honored guests, family and friends in the Ed & Brooks Room in historic Calihan Hall.
 
"The dedication that our student athletes and spirit teams show to academics is second to none," said Amy Gasahl, UDM's Director of Athletic Academics, SA Welfare & Eligibility. "I am so proud of all of our Titans for the time and commitment they put in as true student-athletes. From practices, to games and an academic schedule, it is not an easy task, but their ability to accomplish everything in athletics and academics is amazing."
 
The Detroit AD's Honor Roll recognizes those who attained a minimum of a 3.0 GPA during the 2013 academic year. The list includes individuals from every varsity sport and also spirit group members including the pep band, dance, and cheer squad.
