YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (3/1/2015) -- Highlighted by a trio of finishes in the top-five and a third-place result from the 4x400-meter relay, the University of Detroit Mercy men's track and field team finished competition at the 2015 Horizon League Indoor Championships, hosted by Youngstown State at WATTS on Sunday.
The Titans had two distance runners place in the top five in the 3,000-meter run. Freshman
Ben Kendell earned his second top-five individual finish of the championships placing third with a personal record of 8:23.91, earning six points for Detroit. Sophomore
Ryan Leahy followed in fifth place in 8:26.63, earning a PR by more than nine seconds.
Sophomore
Khalil Parris was second in his heat of the 400-meters and finished third with a season-best time of 48.65.
Detroit earned a season-best time in the 4x400m and finished third overall as a team in the event. The quartet of junior

Zach Arnold and Parris finished with a time of 3:21.38.
Sophomore
Jacob Whitting finished the heptathlon competition strong on Sunday, placing second in both the 1,000m (2:52.89) and 60-meter hurdles (8.78), while tying for third in the pole vault (3.03m/9'11.25"). Whitting finished with 3,757 points overall in the seven-event heptathlon. With his results in Sunday's events, he climbed to sixth place in the final heptathlon tally to earn a point for Detroit.

Charlie Felton also earned one point in the mile earning a PR by placing sixth with a time of 4:16.02, which is also a Detroit rookie record. Panev finished in sixth place for the Titans, running a season-best time of 8.39 in the 60-meter hurdles, and junior
Joshua Carolin also placed sixth crossing in 1:55.91 for a season-best time in the 800m.

George Holman had a time of 8:56.97 in the 3,000m, senior
Ylli Alla crossed in 9:01.95 and freshman
Miles Kelleher posted a time of 9:19.24 in the event.
The Titans finished with 34 points as a team, placing sixth overall. Milwaukee won the team title by seven points over Youngstown State, 161-154.
