KISSIMMEE, Fla. (3/4/2015) -- It was another winning day for the University of Detroit Mercy men's tennis team as the Titans earned a 6-1 triumph over Post University (NY) at the Star Island Resort in Kissimmee, Florida.
It was the second win in three matches for Detroit on its spring break competition as the red, white and blue moved to 3-6 on the year.
The Titans won all three doubles matches and five of the six singles bouts against the Eagles (1-4).
Senior
Jay Joshi and sophomore
Ismail Kadyrov started the hot streak with an 8-2 nod at No. 1. Junior
Tanguy Crosnier and sophomore
Kacper Stelmaszak won their match by an 8-1 tally at No. 3 and sophomores
Patryk Koscielski and
Chance Conley outlasted their counterpart, 8-6, at No. 3.
In singles, Koscielski posted his team-high eighth singles win cruising to a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Martin Munoz at the top spot.
Joshi downed Nicholas Tadros, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 2 and Stelmaszak upended his opponent, 6-2, 6-0, at the third position.
Kadyrov had his way at No. 5 with a 6-2, 6-1 decision and Crosnier picked up his first singles win of the year by downing Jonathyn Young, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 6.
Detroit will wrap up its spring break competition with a match at Bethune-Cookman tomorrow at 1:30 p.m., and on Friday against Mount St. Mary's at the Oak Street Community Center. That match is scheduled for a 10:00 a.m., start.
