Registration & Volunteer Form
DETROIT (5/18/2015) -- Back for another summer of fun and community outreach is the Titan Athletic Club's 5th Annual Basketball Camp For Special Needs Players. This year's camp will be held on Thursday, June 25, on Dick Vitale Court in Calihan Hall.
The camp is open to kids 12 years of age and older and is designed for those with trainable mental impairment (TMI), educable mental impairment (EMI) & other developmental or physical disabilities. All abilities are welcome.
The campers will practice fundamental basketball training designed to develop their overall basketball skills. A camp-parent room will be available for all those parents and guardians who are on hand. All parents and guardians are welcomed to stay and watch.
The cost to attend the camp is $15 and includes a camp T-shirt and tour of Calihan Hall. Families who may need financial assistance can also inquire about camp sponsorships.
Titan Athletic Club members and others who would like to help with the event can do so in a few ways by:
- Sponsoring a camper for as little as $15, to defray the costs for families who may need financial assistance.
- Volunteer at the event, in one of many needed capacities. Just return the volunteer registration form to Titan Athletics if you choose to sponsor or volunteer.
- Help spread the word by passing the camp flyer on to any families you know who have special needs athletes.
The deadline for registration is Friday, June 19, and all you have to do is stop by Titan Athletics to sign up today, or mail the registration form linked at the top of the story to:
