2015-16 MBB Schedule
DETROIT (6/19/2015) – The University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball team will welcome reigning Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) champion Northeastern University to historic Calihan Hall on Saturday, December 5 for the Titans third home game of the 2015-16 season.
This will be the fourth meeting between Detroit and Northeastern, with the Titans leading the all-time series 2-1. Last season, Detroit erased a six-point deficit with 2:47 remaining in regulation and then outscored the Huskies 21-9 in overtime to earn a 81-69 win in Boston.
Paris Bass tallied 11 straight points between regulation and overtime - including the game tying dunk in the closing seconds - for Detroit and scored a career-high-tying 19 points.
Chris Jenkins tallied his first career double-double with 13 points and a career-high 13 rebounds.
Over the 63 years since the opening of Calihan Hall, the men's basketball team has enjoyed a 594-240 (.712) homecourt record on campus, including a 10-6 record last season and a 70-36 ledger since head coach
Ray McCallum took over in 2008.
Northeastern won 23 games in 2014-15 – the most in a season since 1986-87 – and won both the CAA regular season and tournament crowns. The Huskies knocked off the top two seeds in the CAA tournament, before giving No. 3 seed Notre Dame all it could handle in a tight loss in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
Last year's trip to the NCAA Tournament was the first for Northeastern since the 1991 season.
Detroit is scheduled to host six non-conference games this season at Calihan Hall, followed by nine Horizon League games in the Motor City.
Over the next couple weeks, the Titans will announce a non-conference home game every day rotating back and forth between the men's and women's basketball teams. Then, in early July, the full non-conference slate for both programs will be released.
New season tickets are currently on sale starting at just $99. Season ticket renewal information is also available by calling the Titan Ticket Office (313) 993-1700.
