Sisters Vs. Sister As Titans Host Michigan On Nov. 19

2015-16 Women's Basketball Schedule

DETROIT (6/18/2015) --
It will be a family rivalry inside Calihan Hall again as the University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team will welcome Michigan to Dick Vitale Court on Sunday, Nov. 15.

The game means that the Titans will start the year with two-straight inside historic Calihan Hall as it was announced on Tuesday that they will play Bradley on Friday, Nov. 13, to open up the 2015-16 campaign.

The rivalry stems from the "Ristovski" family as junior Haleigh Ristovski will team up with her younger sister and incoming Titan freshman guard Lola Ristovski in a battle against their older sister Madison, a senior guard for U-M. All three starred at nearby University Liggett High School.

The game also marks the 26th meeting between the two schools with the Wolverines holding a slight edge in the all-time series, 13-12.

Michigan ended last year at 20-15, 8-10 in the Big Ten, but the Wolverines did receive a bid to the WNIT advancing all the way to the semifinals. Michigan is losing three of its top five scorers and its top two rebounders from last season, but they do return Katelynn Flaherty as she topped the team with 14.3 points per game as a freshman.

Detroit is scheduled to host seven regular season non-conference games at Calihan Hall this season, followed by nine Horizon League contests. The ninth is due to the addition of Northern Kentucky to the league for the upcoming year.

For the next two weeks, the Titans will announce a home non-conference game every day rotating back and forth between the men's and women's basketball teams. Then, in early July, the full non-conference slate for both programs will be released.

New men's basketball season tickets are currently on sale starting at just $99. Men's basketball season ticket renewal information is also available by calling the Titan Ticket Office (313) 993-1700. With the purchase of full men's basketball tickets fans receive an "All Sports Pass" which allows them entry into all home women's basketball and men's lacrosse games.
