2015-16 Women's Basketball Schedule
DETROIT (6/25/2015) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team will look to knock off a BCS opponent as the Cincinnati Bearcats are set to visit historic Calihan Hall on Dec. 2.
The contest is the fourth home regular season non-conference game of the year for Detroit following the season and home opener versus Bradley on Nov. 13, in-state rival Michigan on Nov. 15 and Niagara on Nov. 29.
This will be the 11th career meeting between the two schools as Cincinnati has won five in a row and leads the all-time series, 8-2. Last season, Detroit saw the Bearcats get off to a fast start in a 70-38 road setback.
Cincinnati was 8-23 last season and 4-14 in the American Athletic Conference, advancing to the quarterfinals of the American Championship.
The Bearcats return eight letter winners, including leading scorer and ball handler Ana Owens, who topped the team with 11.7 points and 2.5 assists per game.
Detroit is scheduled to host seven regular season non-conference games at Calihan Hall this season, followed by nine Horizon League contests. The ninth is due to the addition of Northern Kentucky to the league for the upcoming year.
Starting last week, the Titans have announced a home non-conference game every day rotating back and forth between the men's and women's basketball teams. Then, in early July, the full non-conference slate for both programs will be released.
New men's basketball season tickets are currently on sale starting at just $99. Men's basketball season ticket renewal information is also available by calling the Titan Ticket Office (313) 993-1700. With the purchase of full men's basketball tickets fans receive an "All Sports Pass" which allows them entry into all home women's basketball and men's lacrosse games.
