Women’s Basketball Looks To Continue Dominance Over IPFW On Dec. 9

2015-16 Women's Basketball Schedule

DETROIT (6/29/2015) --
The University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team will wrap up a four-game home swing when the Titans entertain the Mastodons of IPFW on Dec. 9.

The game will be part of another Titan basketball doubleheader at historic Calihan Hall as the men's squad will also host Toledo on that Wednesday night. The times of both games have not been released yet.

The game against IPFW is the sixth home regular season non-conference contest of the season for the red, white and blue following the season and home opener versus Bradley on Nov. 13, in-state rival Michigan on Nov. 15, Niagara on Nov. 29, Cincinnati on Dec. 2 and Salem International on Dec. 5.

This will be the 10th career meeting between Detroit and IPFW with the Titans owning a 7-2 lead in the overall series, including 3-1 at home. Last season saw UDM go down by as many as nine points with just under 11 minutes left, but Detroit was able to overcome that thanks to a career-high 33 from Rosanna Reynolds, which included seven 3-pointers.

IPFW finished 2014-15 at 9-21, 3-13 in the Summit League. The Mastodons are set to return five of their top six scorers from a year ago, but will have to replace the 18.1 ppg., tallied by leading scorer Haley Seibert.

Detroit is scheduled to host seven regular season non-conference games at Calihan Hall this season, followed by nine Horizon League contests. The ninth is due to the addition of Northern Kentucky to the league for the upcoming year.

The Titans have announced a home non-conference game every day rotating back and forth between the men's and women's basketball teams in the past two weeks. The men's home non-conference schedule is now all complete, while the women will release their final non-conference for on Wednesday.

The full non-conference schedule for both programs will also released this week.

New men's basketball season tickets are currently on sale starting at just $99. Men's basketball season ticket renewal information is also available by calling the Titan Ticket Office (313) 993-1700. With the purchase of full men's basketball tickets fans receive an "All Sports Pass" which allows them entry into all home women's basketball and men's lacrosse games.
