2015-16 Women's Basketball Schedule
DETROIT (7/1/2015) -- The last University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball non-conference home game of the year will be on Dec. 30 as Eastern Michigan makes the short trip to the Motor City.
It is the seventh home regular season non-conference contest for the red, white and blue following the season and home opener versus Bradley on Nov. 13, in-state rival Michigan on Nov. 15, Niagara on Nov. 29, Cincinnati on Dec. 2, Salem International on Dec. 5, and IPFW on Dec. 9.
The contest marks the 25th career meeting between the two schools that first met during the 1978-79 season. Detroit leads the overall series, 14-10, but will look to end a two-game slide to the Eagles, including last season's 75-71 setback in overtime.
Eastern Michigan was 24-13 last year, 11-7 in the Mid-American Conference, and made a trip to the Sweet 16 of the WNIT. EMU is set to return its top two scorers in Cha Sweeney (17.2 ppg., 3.8 apg.) and Janay Morton (12.6 ppg.).
Detroit will host seven regular season non-conference games at Calihan Hall this season, followed by nine Horizon League contests. The ninth is due to the addition of Northern Kentucky to the league for the upcoming year.
The Titans have announced a home non-conference game every day rotating back and forth between the men's and women's basketball teams in the last two weeks.
The full non-conference schedule for both programs will also released this week.
New men's basketball season tickets are currently on sale starting at just $99. Men's basketball season ticket renewal information is also available by calling the Titan Ticket Office (313) 993-1700. With the purchase of full men's basketball tickets fans receive an "All Sports Pass" which allows them entry into all home women's basketball and men's lacrosse games.
