DETROIT (9/18/2015) – Five different players scored, and freshman
Claudia Eustaquio picked up her second straight shutout in a 5-0 win over Green Bay for the University of Detroit Mercy women's soccer team.
The match, which marked the beginning of Horizon League play for each team, was all Titans from the start.

Carley Rice put Detroit ahead with a goal in the 10th minute, and the hosts never looked back. Sophomore

Jennifer Borawski each added a goal before halftime, before freshman
Molly Kane and senior
Sara Zawacki capped the scoring in the second half to give the Titans the 5-0 victory.
Freshman goalkeeper Eustaquio faced only seven shots behind a strong defensive line and made three saves in the shutout victory.
The win is the Titans' second straight and improves their record to 4-4 overall and 1-0 in conference action.

Claudia Eustaquio How it Happened- Detroit put the pressure on the Phoenix early and often. Rice forced a turnover near midfield and took the ball down the middle, before chipping the keeper and dropping a ball just under the crossbar in the 10th minute for the opening score of the game.
- Drayton sprung free on a lead pass from junior Anna Mindling down the right side midway through the first half and buried a shot in the upper-90 from the right side of the box to give UDM a 2-0 lead in the 26th minute.
- Borawski forced a turnover and outran defenders through the middle of the pitch just moments later to set up a 1-on-1 with the Green Bay keeper. Borawski kept her cool and slid a shot past a diving keeper to give Detroit a 3-0 halftime lead.
- Senior Alyssa Lotito sent a free kick into the box and found the head of Kane, who redirected the pass into the back of the net in the 67th minute.
- Zawacki smashed a one-timer from Borawski into the right side of the net to cap the scoring in the 70th minute.
Leading the Titans- Borawski picked up a goal and an assist for a team-high three points in the match. She added two shots, both of which came on goal.
- Drayton tallied a team-high three shots, while Lotito, Mindling and Rice each picked up a pair of shots.
- Lotito and Mindling each added an assist in the win.
- Eustaquio made three saves to pick up the second shutout of her young career.

Inside the Box Score- Detroit outshot Green Bay 14-7 overall and 9-3 on net. The Titans held the edge in corner kicks, 4-1.
- The Titans picked up assists on three of their five goals. Detroit's other two goals came off of turnovers at midfield.
Titan News and Notes- With an assist, Lotito moves into a tie for seventh place in the all-time record book at Detroit with 17 assists. The assist is Lotito's second straight match with a helper.
- Kane's goal is her second in as many games, while Eustaquio picked up her second straight shutout.
- With the 5-0 victory, Detroit scored the most goals since an 8-0 win over Marygrove on Oct. 7, 2013.
- The five-goal outburst is the most for the Titans in a Horizon League match since a 7-0 win over Cleveland State in 2006.
- The Titans are now 29-6-2 in home games since the beginning of the 2011 season.
- Defensively, Detroit has recorded 18 total shutouts in its last 24 matches at Titan Field dating back to 2012.
