DETROIT (9/26/2015) -- Sophomore Jonathan Bohlman (Jenison, Mich. / Freedom Christian) scored the game-tying goal in the 72nd minute Saturday and the University of Detroit Mercy men's soccer team posted its second-straight draw in a 1-1 match with visiting Northern Kentucky University at Titan Field. The Titans remain unbeaten in their last five matches (3-0-2).

Detroit is now 0-0-2 in Horizon League play after its first two matches of the league schedule. The game was the first meeting between the Titans and Norse in conference play as NKU fully joined the Horizon League for the 2015-16 year.

Bohlman's game-tying goal was his first career tally. The Titans peppered the Northern Kentucky throughout the match, finishing with a 28-6 shot advantage and 16-1 edge in corner kicks.

How It Happened
• Detroit opened the game with a good tempo offensively, earning three corner kicks in the first five minutes of the match. The Titans had a 6-0 shot advantage in the first 16 minutes of the match.
• The Titans had numerous scoring opportunities early, but it was Northern Kentucky that scored first. Detroit goalkeeper Nathan Steinwascher came out to play a ball, but Northern Kentucky was able to control it with Steinwascher well out of net. NKU's Johannes Jansen fired it past a Detroit defender and into the far side of the net to give the Norse a 1-0 lead.
• Detroit finished the half with several more opportunities on goal, but NKU goalkeeper A.J. Fleak made some strong saves including on a Jason Leslie header in the final minute of the first half.
• UDM found the back of the net off a rebound. Senior forward Pat Smith headed a ball into the box that was shot on goal by senior Jacob Prud'homme. Fleak made the first save, but Bohlman was there for the rebound and he fired it home to tie the match. Both Bohlman and Smith had just subbed into the match for Detroit.
Spiro Pliakos had a strong chance in the box just minutes later, but Fleak was able to make the save on a hard low shot to his left.
• Detroit had both shots in overtime, but neither were on net.

Leading the Titans
• Bohlman's goal was his first career tally. He also recorded his first assist this season, earning one against Stetson.
• Pliakos finished the game with a career-high nine shots, two of them on goal.
Tyler Moorman had three shots for Detroit. The Titans had seven players with multiple-shot days.
Nathan Steinwascher made two saves in net. He has been in goal for all four draws this season.
