NORTHRIDGE, Calif. (9/6/2015) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's soccer team dropped its final game in California on Sunday, falling 3-0 to a tough Cal State Northridge squad.
Junior midfielder
Molly Kane, who has started each game for the Titans (2-4) as a true freshman, had a good look on net in the second half, firing a shot from outside of the box, but it was turned away by a diving CSUN goalkeeper.
Sophomore forward
Phylisha Drayton, making her first career start up front, had a shot for Detroit, while senior
Jennifer Borawski and sophomore
Suzie Redick each had shots for the Titans.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Marina Manzo played the entire match in net for Detroit, turning away a season-high eight shots. Manzo made four saves in each half. It was the third time in Manzo's career that she's reached eight saves.
Cal State Northridge (5-1) had the edge in shots, 24-4. CSUN led in fouls, 11-6.
The Titans earned four corner kicks during the match, including three in the first 45 minutes of the game.
Detroit returns to the pitch on Thursday, Sept. 10 for a 3 p.m. home match against Eastern Michigan at Titan Field.
