DETROIT (1/26/2016) -- University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball freshmen Gerald Blackshear and Josh McFolley have been best friends off the court and when it came time to make a choice for college, there was no doubt that they would be attending UDM together.
 
Both players helped Detroit Western to a 26-0 record as seniors last season, and that was after the program won just nine games the previous season.
 
This season, both Blackshear and McFolley have seen extensive playing time as rookies.
